Giving of Time and Talents
There are so many ministries availble at our church to use your God given talents as His hands and feet. If you are not currently involved in a ministry please contact Stacey Cox, our Ministry Assistant so she can direct you.
Giving is the means by which God’s community is strengthened in the New Testament. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, each person is to decide how much they can give and then give it cheerfully. It is incumbent on the giver to seek to discern what the Lord may be prompting or leading them to give. We choose to use the word giving instead of tithing because tithing can be legalistic. Pastor Jason is convinced that tithing can be a legalistic burden for those in true poverty or people stretched thin just to provide for their family. If you are stretched, we ask you to pray and then decide with the Lord a regular, faithful amount you will set aside in joyful thanks.
Have you thought about making our community of faith part of your legacy? God often uses these gifts at providential times to support the ongoing work of Christ. You also can designate how you desire your legacy to be used. For example, some have asked that their money be used to purchase a particular needed item, a particular ministry, or used for the day-to-day operations of the church.
Please pray and ask God’s will. Our community gives thanks to those who have remembered us – they have truly blessed us in ways that glorify Christ every week in our ongoing fellowship together.
Our giving is a concrete expression of our faith in action, blessing others as we have been blessed by God’s loving grace.
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
